Welcome on the CNRS Brasil web site !
CNRS Brasil – Bureau CNRS Brésil – is the representation office of CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, from France) in Brazil.
Its objective is to help the creation and the progress of scientific cooperation projects between CNRS and Brazil.
Marco Brunella, CNRS researcher in the Bourgogne Mathematics Institute (UMR 5584 Université de Bourgogne – CNRS) passed away in January of 2012 in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro, as he was initiating a 3 months scientific stay in the CNRS-IMPA (Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada) joint research lab. A police investigation has been opened about the death circumstances. The CNRS, together with the French General Consulate in Rio de Janeiro and IMPA, stays informed about the on-going investigations and the consequences that might follow. The CNRS expresses his condolences to his family, parents and colleagues in Brazil, France and all over the world. A tribute (in french) has been put on the Web site of IMB.
